Our training program has been tested against the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) testing system, where we have received the highest possible scores in the Natural Ability (NA) and Utility (UT) tests. Please click the link below and visit the official NAVHDA website to learn more about the NAVHDA testing system.
Dogs who are registered with NAVHDA and are 16 months of age or under are eligible to run the NA test. This training program includes field work, tracking, and water work. People often feel anxious being the handler for their dogs test. We will teach you the necessary skills to handle your dog appropriately during their test.
Owners interested in running the UT test must have their dog registered with NAVHDA. It is essential for dogs to have fundamental obedience and some understanding of basic and advanced gun dog training concepts. Therefore, we recommend starting with our Bird Dog Program prior to entering this program. This program requires commitment, consistency, and time, and therefore we recommend boarding your dog at our facility for the duration of this program. We will then teach you the necessary skills to handle your dog appropriately during their UT test.
Those eager to learn with their dog and complete the required homework would be well-suited for our one on one training sessions.
Once you complete the intake form, we will be in contact with you to schedule a free telephone consult to further discuss what you are looking for and how we can help you.
Our training programs require structure, routine, and leadership. Boarding your dog at our facility for their training program is a great option for those looking for routine, structure and consistent daily training. At the end of the program, we will show you their new skills and teach you how to handle your dog appropriately, ensuring you and your dog work well in partnership.
